B.Ed application forms

BANGALORE CITY COLLEGE is started giving application forms for B.Ed course .
Any candidate who has passed Degree examination of the Bangalore University or any other university recognised as equivalent there with 10+2+3 pattern obtaining at least 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects (45% in case of SC/ST and other categorized students) is eligible for admission to B.Ed. Degree course.

DURATION OF THE COURSE

Duration of this course is one academic year out of which atleast 6 weeks will be for internship / practice teaching. The medium of Bangalore City College is English.

COURSE CONTENTS

SUBJECTS OF STUDY: Paper I- Education in Emerging India
Paper II- Educational Psychology and Evaluation
Paper III- Educational Management and Problems of Indian Education
Paper IV- Methods of Teaching Subject I
Paper V- Methods of Teaching Subject II
Paper VI- Socially Useful Productive Work
Paper VII- Anyone of the following addnl. subjects:
a. Moral Education
b. Non-formal Education
c. Educational & Vocational Guidance
d. Action Research
e. Population Education
f. Computer Education
g. Education of the Visually Handicapped
h. Education of Mentally Retarded
i. Education of the Hearing impaired
j. Education of Orthopedically Handicapped.

CITIZENSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME AND EXCURSIONS.An excursion of three to five days duration will be conducted for the benefit of the students as part of the training, each under Educational Excursion and Citizenship Training Camp.Places of educational, cultural and historical importance will be visited. The citizenship training programme aims at fostering the qualities of good citizenship, secular orientation, protection of composite culture, appreciation of our cultural heritage, promotion for national integration etc. The college extensively fosters activities which enable growth of these qualities in its students.

EXAMINATION / EVALUATIONThe scheme of examination for the B.Ed. course will consist of internal assessment & external assessment. Every subject under Paper I to Paper VII will have both forms of examination. The total marks allotted for all subjects put together in internal assessment is 160 & for external assessment is 540. In addition to this, group teaching is also examined with marks of 200 in internal assessment & 100 in external assessment.
